“Tanging Ligaya” is the first composition of Angelica Soriano who is also a first-time contestant on ASOP. The song is the result of her careful attention to judges’ recommendations and guidance to all participating composers on the show.

Angelica got hooked on the show when she noticed her husband following ASOP on YouTube. Later on, she was overwhelmed by the songwriting styles being discussed that it revived her interest in crafting songs.

As she recalls, the song started out with a few lines and bits of melody. Through the help of her husband and their friends, a praise song from Kuwait was born and presented in the competition. The lyrics reflect her own experience with hardship and triumph.

Judges describe the entry, Tanging Ligaya, as a refreshing song that uplifts the spirits of listeners.

Angelica believes that Filipinos have an exceptional love and gift for music that should be used in creating more songs of praise.
