This encouragement that Jonathan Sta. Rita wants to tell his listeners is inspired from his personal experience after he was diagnosed with kidney failure. This song was a way to express himself and his struggle as he battled against his health condition.

Jonathan has been writing different songs since his teens. He discovered ASOP through his friend, who is a songwriter also, and was encouraged to submit his composition. Joining the competition is a way of testing the waters if his song will transmit the desired effect to the people.

The song, “Ikaw Lamang”, as described by judges, has the characteristics of a hit song: distinctive with a polished melodic ranges and new-school ballad style that raises the listening experience of worship songs.
