When will the results of the contest be announced?

A: There is a scheduled date for sending the result of the contest or screening. Only the ones that passed the screening will be announced.

Will I receive feedback for the song I enter?

A: Yes.

Do the entries have to be radio-ready?

A: Not really.  Contestants are judged on the quality of the song’s composition, not the quality of the recording or the voice performance

Can I submit lyrics only?

A: No. Both lyrics and audio should be submitted.

Do the entries have to be a particular style?

A. No, whichever you prefer that is based on the genres stated in the guidelines. It can be Pop, Jazz, Ballad, Classical, Soul, Blues, RnB, Gospel and the likes except Metallic Rock and Rap.

Will I know what rank my entries place if they aren’t in the top (three)?

A. No. (for screening results)

Will I still have complete rights to the songs I enter in the contest?

A. The contestant must waive his/her public performance and communication to the public rights in favor of ASOP-BMPI.

When is the deadline to enter the contest?

A: It will be announced, based on the start date of the competition proper.

Does my song have to be an original song?

A: Yes. A Song of Praise Music Festival only accepts original songs.

Are there any age requirements to enter?

A: Yes, the contestant must be of legal age.

How many songs can I enter?

A: There is no limit to the number of songs you may enter into the contest.

How many categories can I enter my song(s) into?

A: You may enter as many songs as you want in any category.

Am I allowed to enter if I’m a past winner?

A: You cannot pass a song entry for a year after winning.

Can I have another vocalist to sing the song I wrote?

A: You can suggest a singer for your song. Final decision will be made by the management.

Is there a maximum length to an entered song?

 A: Yes. The song entry should not exceed four (4) minutes in length.

How much does it cost to enter?

A: None. No registration fee is required.

Will the program notify entrants that their entry has been received?

A: Yes, they will be notified.

How and when will winners be notified?

 A: They (for passed entries) will be notified through the proper channel agreed upon by the management. Notification date will depend upon the start date of the competition proper.

Does the program give feedback?

A: No, for entries that did not pass the screening.

Does the program notify entrants about the status of their entry during the process?

A: No, only upon receipt of the entry.

If I entered last year, can I enter again this year?

A: It depends. If you won, you cannot pass a song entry for a year after winning.

Am I allowed to enter songs that have been entered into other songwriting competitions?

A: No. The song entry must have previously qualified for the grand finals of any song competition.

Does the program own my song once I have entered it?

A: A Song of Praise Music Festival shall have the right to use, free of charge, any of the winning entries within a period of ten (10) years, following the Finals of the competition, for any purpose or usage on any of its programs or platforms including the use thereof in replays beyond the aforesaid periods, without need for further remuneration by the management.

Within the ten (10) year period wherein the contestants agreed to transfer its copyright to A Song of Praise Music Festival, the program agrees to share the income it may earn from its social media platforms with the contestant on a 50-50% rate.

What is the People’s Choice for A Song of Praise Music Festival?

A: The People’s Choice is an additional way to win an award. Once the finalists are announced, their songs will be put up on the website and the public is invited to vote for their favorite song. The finalist who receives the most votes will win a prize.

Do the judges listen to all the entries, or is there a screening process?

A: There is a screening committee that listens to all entries and selects the group of finalists which are then sent to the judges. The judges then select the winners from this group of finalists.

How long has the program been in existence?

A: A Song Of Praise on TV has been in existence since 2011.
