Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) named A Song of Praise (ASOP) Music Festival as the “Best Talent Search Program” at the recently held 31st Star Awards for Television.
In its category, ASOP bested GMA-7’s talent reality program #Like.
In 2015, ASOP Music Festival was also awarded as the Best Talent Search Program at the 29th PMPC Star Awards for Television.
Being one of the advocacies of UNTV’s Mr. Public Service Kuya Daniel Razon and International Filipino-Televangelist Bro. Eliseo Soriano, the songwriting tilt aims to bring back gospel music in the lives of many people and support Original Filipino Music (OPM).
Launched as an annual songwriting competition, ASOP continues to set out the stage for praise music that is rarely performed today as it celebrates both amateur and professional talents.
Hosted by Richard Reynoso and Toni Rose Gayda, the songwriting tilt is joined by resident judge Doktor Musico Mon del Rosario, a highly regarded physician-composer, musical director and record producer.
In its sixth year, 12 new songs of praise will vie for “Song of the Year” award. This November 13, the program will hold its grand finals at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum with some of the country’s most talented local performers to take part in the celebration.
