A Song of Praise Music Festival will cap off its fifth year with an exquisite collection of praise songs to be presented at Smart-Araneta Coliseum tonight, 7 p.m.
The contest is a year-round search for the best worship compositions from a wide selection of entries from professional and amateur Filipino composers; within and outside the Philippines. Entries for the final round had been carefully selected and critically evaluated by judges from weekly elimination to monthly rounds until the twelve spots were completed for the final tilt towards “Song of the Year” award.
Aside from the grand title, the final twelve are vying for the People’s Choice award by dominating ASOP’s online poll and power viewing of each YouTube videos. Also, “Best Interpreter” will be awarded to an outstanding artist based on the judge’s criteria.
Cash prizes for winners will be: 3rd runner up, P100,000; 2nd runner up, P150,000, 1st runner up, 250,000 and the Song of the Year will receive P500,000. Consolation prizes will amount to 20,000 while the “Best Interpreter” and People’s Choice awardees will receive P50,000 each.
